One of the most common questions we get is: "If it's built to order, how long does it take? And what happens between the day I order and the day it arrives?"

Fair questions. Buying a custom sofa is different from pulling something off a showroom floor, and we want you to know exactly what the process looks like — no surprises.

Here's a clear walkthrough of every step.

Step 1: Choose Your Configuration

Before anything is built, you decide what you're getting. This includes:

You can start this process in our showroom with one of our team members, or reach out online to begin a conversation. We recommend visiting in person for upholstery decisions — fabric and leather look and feel different on a screen than they do in your hands.

Step 2: Confirm Your Order

Once your configuration is finalized, we confirm the order details with you in writing — dimensions, materials, features, timeline, and pricing. Nothing moves to production until you've reviewed and approved everything.

This is the moment to ask any remaining questions. Our team is available to walk through every detail before you commit.

Step 3: Your Sofa Goes Into Production

After order confirmation, your sectional enters our production queue. Because each piece is built individually, we maintain a clear timeline for every order.

What's happening during this stage:

  • Frame is cut and assembled from solid hardwood
  • Corner blocking and joint reinforcement applied
  • Reclining mechanism installed and tested
  • High-density foam cut to spec and applied
  • Upholstery cut, sewn, and fitted
  • Final quality check and recliner function test before it enters the showroom

We build each section of the sofa as a complete unit — not as components that get assembled on delivery day.

Step 4: Delivery Coordination

When your sectional is ready, our delivery team contacts you to arrange a convenient delivery window. We deliver across the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions.

A few things to have ready for delivery day:

  • Clear the path from your front door to the room — hallways, staircases, and doorways
  • Know your doorway widths in advance (we can help you check measurements if needed)
  • Have the space where the sofa will sit cleared and ready

Our delivery team will place and assemble the sectional in the room. You won't be left with flat-pack components and an instruction booklet.

Step 5: You Enjoy It — For a Long Time

Once the sofa is in place, tested, and you're happy, we're done. No upsell, no follow-up pitch.

How Long Does the Whole Process Take?

Lead times vary depending on the complexity of your order and our current production schedule. We'll give you an accurate timeline at the point of order confirmation — and we stick to it.

If timing is a key factor for you (a move, a renovation, a specific date), let us know upfront and we'll tell you honestly whether we can meet it. We'd rather give you a realistic date than a convenient one.

Can I Make Changes After Ordering?

Changes are possible within a short window after order confirmation, while your piece is still in the early stages of production. Once materials have been cut, changes become difficult or impossible to accommodate without affecting your timeline.

This is why the configuration step matters — we take the time to get it right before production starts so that changes don't become necessary.
